1)  Please explain your process?

Send us a good quality photo with a memorable smile or expression. Our digital Artists will remove the background and place the head and shoulders on a themed Art background you select from our catalog. We often retouch the face to soften skin tone, texture and highlight the eyes. Some say our work looks like an Old World style painting. While our result is attractive its not painting. We do offer hand painted portraits on canvas by skilled Artists but this is a different (and more time consuming) process.

2)  What kind of Photo should I send?
The best photos are in focus, close up and well lit, Select one that has a memorable smile or expression. Always send us the hi res original if you can (rather than a small copy which may have been texted to you).
3)  I'm not sure the photo I have will work?
We're here for you. Visit our Contact Us page and upload the photo you have. We'll evaluate your photo and get back to you with suggestions.
4)  I have a traditional paper photo and not a digital photo...
Your paper photo will need to be scanned to digital form before you can send it to us through the website. This can be done locally for around $2. Visit the print service dept at Office Depot, FedEx Office, Staples or Walgreens to order a hi resolution digital scan. Another option (not as good) is to take a picture of your paper photo using your phone's camera. This will create a digital copy which you can then send to us. Just make sure you do this under good lighting, without reflective glare and hold your phone camera still or the image will be blurry.
5)  Can you work with pictures that are old or torn or damaged?
Yes. We can often fix torn or damaged photographs and make them suitable for reproduction into a Memorial Portrait. An added cost applies and each project is a little different. Please send us your photo through our contact page and we can discuss.
6)  Can you remove someone or something from my photo?
Yes, and in most cases there is no extra charge. If request is too elaborate we'll let you know. In that case there might be small charge for photo retouching.
7)  How fast can a Memorial Portrait made?
We like to say 24hrs but literally within hours if you have the need. Portraits ordered as a 'digital download' before 3pm EST are returned same day as a digital file by email. The artwork can then be printed at a nearby location such as Costco, FedEx Office, Office Depot, Staples or Walgreens. Insert the artwork into your own picture frame and you're all set. If you need a low cost decorative frame we suggest Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Target or Walmart.
8)  What's the difference between a Memorial Portrait and a Painting?
The photo for your memorial portrait undergoes photo retouching and enhancement to improve skin tone and color. The head and shoulders of the subject are then placed on a themed Art background you select from our library. The result is an elegant and appropriate display for funeral services. Painting, real hand painted portraiture, is done by an Artist with a brush. We are the only studio in this category with real Artists who paint by hand. Paintings involve considerable more time and take longer to complete. Click here to visit our Gallery to see samples of our hand painted Memorial portraits.
9)  How long does it take to create a Painting?
On a rush priority basis, it usually takes at least 48 hours to hand paint a portrait on canvas.
10)  Can my Memorial Portrait be framed?
Yes, we offer 5 picture frame options each of which can be shipped same day.
11)  I want to pick up my Memorial Portrait print at Costco but I'm not a member?
That's OK. Costco will often let non-members visit the photo dept to pick up a completed order. If not, just visit Customer Service and request a day pass. The people at Costco are very courteous and easy to work with.
12)  Can you create Memorial Portraits of my pet?
Yes, we create beautiful Pet Portraits:as either a Memorial Photo Portrait (as seen here) or a hand painted portrait to remember your beloved Pet.
13)  Can I buy a gift card to pre-pay a Memorial Portrait for someone I know?
Yes you can. Just select the e-Gift Card option at the top of this page. Your Gift Voucher will be sent electronically with your personalized message to the recipient you select by email within 30 minutes.
14)  Do you offer Coupons?
Our portraits have the lowest price of any web based service vendor. For this reason we don't offer general discount coupons. We do have partners in the Funeral Service industry who purchase Gift Certificates who in turn give them away to their customers.
15)  Do you offer discounts for professionals in the Funeral Service Industry?
We do offer special arrangements to retail stores and qualified industry professionals. To learn more please inquire through our contact page.
16)  What is your product warranty?
We guarantee your satisfaction....plain and simple. If you decide not to keep any portrait we create for you within 7 days of its delivery we'll either REDO it or refund you. We realize the artworks we create often become family heirlooms. So we'll do everything we can to make you happy.
